Albania's Ambassador to Tel Aviv, Meri Kumbe, stated that the situation in the last 48 hours in Israel has been tense due to the frequent airstrikes that Iran has carried out in response.
There were casualties from the attacks, but Ambassador Kumbe said that no Albanians were affected and that they are safely sheltered in shelters.
Kumbe announced that so far 12 Albanians in Israel have requested the embassy's assistance, while adding that many more Albanian citizens live in the country, who are in good condition.
"The situation in the last 48 hours has been tense in Israel, where there have been frequent air strikes against Israel. Today there are fewer attacks, but they have been more powerful. So far there have been casualties, but there are no Albanian citizens affected, who are safe and sheltered in security rooms, according to the reported rules. The Albanians in Israel who have requested our assistance are 12 so far. Meanwhile, many more Albanians live in Israel and everyone is very well," the ambassador told "RTSH".
She explained that the target of the attacks was the entire territory of Israel, including civilian areas.
"The target has been all of Israel, including civilians themselves. Residents are organized near their homes, where every building has underground shelters, and the municipality also has large shelters, more organized structures, where all citizens who do not have a shelter go to these municipal structures. They are numerous. Our citizens have immediate access to private security rooms in the homes where they are accommodated ," she said.
The Albanian Embassy in Tel Aviv is in constant contact with all Albanian citizens and is ready to provide assistance in any emergency.
"We have the contacts of each of the Albanian citizens and we are in constant communication with them for every case and announcement that needs to be made ," said the ambassador.
