"Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center in Tirana was engulfed in flames this Sunday morning.
The fire fell in one of the basements and caused a lot of smoke, which risked causing asphyxia to the patients.
From the first data it is reported that the batteries of the servers had problems during the night on the -1st floor.
According to the media, most of the patients have been evacuated. It is known that the patients were transported by ambulance to the Sanatorium Hospital in Sauk, while some were arranged in other wards of the QSUT.
Meanwhile, the fire brigade of Tirana immediately arrived at the scene, and after the intervention, the fire was brought under control.
Meanwhile, the circumstances of the fire are still unknown, the police and the investigative team are working to clarify the cause.
"On 11.02.2024, around 05:30, on Dibra Street, it is suspected that as a result of a spark, a fire broke out on floor -1, in the new emergency room. Police services, in cooperation with the fire brigade, immediately evacuated the medical staff and patients. The fire has been extinguished and as a result no one was injured. The investigative group is working to clarify the circumstances of the incident" , the police announced.
