The fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon, and the flames have scorched several hectares of forests and crops, burned several homes, three stables, and three heads of cattle.
Among the severely affected buildings is the Orthodox church "St. Ilia", declared a category II cultural monument.
The church, built around the 1800s by Thanas Vaja, the former commander of Ali Pasha of Tepelena, was completely destroyed by flames.
The situation has been further worsened by the explosion of two bombs left in the area since World War II, which were activated due to the high temperatures of the fire.
