Analyst Andi Bushati said in a show that the recount of votes from the May 11 elections does not justify the extent of the electoral farce that the DP claims.
According to Bushati, vote manipulation in the last two elections was industrial, and was not done on election day, but earlier, through gangs, vote buying, media manipulation, and judicial attacks on the opposition.
" The recount so far does not even justify the extent of what the DP says. There are some discrepancies in votes, but it seems that the manipulation of these elections is not in the vote that is in the box. We have moved on from the 1996-2001 election model. In these elections, manipulation has become much more industrial, even in 2021, even in 2025. It is not left to chance on the last day, the elections are manipulated with criminal groups that buy votes in advance, they are manipulated with the media, with the justice system that is programmed only to hit the opposition. The OSCE-ODIHR report says it mildly, but it says the essence, there is no competition in Albania. The final report will be milder. As always, I bet they will say that a deep electoral reform is also needed, which they tell us 30 years, where we reform the system, but the elections are stolen again ," he said in MCN.
Speaking about the fire at the waste incinerator in Elbasan, Bushati considered the mayor a fool, who claims that the fire was started by the heat, when according to him, everyone knows that there is no longer any place to deposit waste there.
" Would the mayor of Elbasan, if we lived in a democratic system, dare to act like a scoundrel and say that the heat ignited the fire?! When we all know that there is no longer anywhere to deposit waste, the places that were intended for disposal are saturated, the incinerators do not exist. They burn the garbage, just as they throw sewage into the sea. Not only would he not speak, but the government would not dare to appear on the screens when it has spent half a billion euros on incinerators. In a democratic system, you go to court, so what should you do, suppress democracy ?" he said.
