Why was pressure exerted on Holta Zacaj by the people of the majority and what are the sensational issues that the court is considering?
The Constitutional Court has become a bone of contention in recent weeks. Elsa Toska suddenly resigned and even today we do not know why she did this act. Then the Assembly immediately started the replacement procedures and announced a vacancy with a full mandate, although according to the Constitution, the vacancy had to close in 2025.
But the biggest debate was about the mandate of Holta Zaçaj, who is also the president. The Supreme Court announced that it will end its mandate in March and asked to declare a vacancy. However, Zaçaj refused with the argument that his mandate ends at the end of the year. But she faced tremendous pressure. The media and journalists close to the majority attacked him in a terrible way, making the trial public.
The journalists at the counters took on the role of the lawyer and explained with pencil and paper that her mandate is over and she must leave. Even today, an internal government journalist came out and said that 'she is incompetent, she has tarnished her job and should resign'. Why this great pressure from the majority? Why were the socialists alarmed when Zaçaj said that he will remain in office?
The suspicions are that the conflict between her and the majority started for the mandate of Olta Xhaçka. Zaçaj once worked in the Municipality of Tirana, when Rama was mayor and there were rumors that she was the man of the majority in the court. But at Xhaçka, she went against it and this seems to have brought the start of the conflict.
But the suspicions are that it is not the only case. There are many other very important issues in the Constitution, most of which affect the majority. Is it possible that SP is playing stones on these issues?
One of the most sensational issues that will be considered by the Constitutional Court is that of Pëllumb Gjoka. On December 19, the court convenes on his request to declare illegal the interceptions of "Sky Ecc". It is said that there has been tremendous pressure on the Constitutional Court for this case, since apart from crime, politics is also interested in undoing these interceptions. This is because there are many important names that appear there.
Another case is the DP's complaint about the law of the Academy of Sciences, the complaint of small parties about the Electoral Code, as well as a complaint that the DP made about the project of the Port of Durrës by the Arabs. Another issue is the appeal of Sali Berisha, who has appealed the arrest in prison, after the dismissal he made for the measure of the obligation to appear.
