Another official evidence proves that the Minister of Tourism-Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, in addition to the permit for iron production and export of toxic scrap waste, has favored the Turkish company "Kurum" and with other environmental permits for the construction of a new smelting line, which adds poisons to the air of the territory of Elbasan.
On December 29, 2023, the Turkish company "Kurum", owned by Hatixe Kurum, has requested the Minister of Environment-Tourism, Mirela Kumbaro, to be provided with an environmental permit of type "A" or "B", for the construction of a chrome ore smelting line.
Minister Kumbaro accepted this request as "legal and without environmental consequences", and ordered the National Environment Agency to start the accelerated procedures, for the equipment with environmental permit type "A", for the chromium smelting line of the company's plants. Kurum" in Elbasan.
Within 24 hours, Hatixja of the "Kurum" company submitted the environmental study to the National Environment Agency, while Minister Mirela Kumbaro immediately signed the "A" type environmental permit for the construction of the chrome smelting line.
This permission was given at a time when the EU and international environmental organizations are putting pressure on the Albanian government to stop the activity of collecting scrap and iron products in Elbasan and the rehabilitation of the area of the former metallurgical plant.
But the minister Mirela Kumbaro ignores the demands of the EU and will not even know about the carcinogenic poison that the company "Kurum" produces, which the residents of the Elbasan area inhale through the air, water and agricultural products.
According to the environmental study drawn up by the "Green Studio" firm, from the smelting of chrome inside the "Kurum" company in Elbasan, a quantity of poisonous and carcinogenic gases of 210 thousand m3 per hour will be released, with a content of toxic particles up to 5 grams per 1 m3; or 1050 kilograms of solid waste per hour, together with gases in the air.
This quantity of poisonous and carcinogenic gases is in addition to the poisons that the "Kurum" company releases and disperses in the territory of Elbasan, making the damage to the health of the residents more serious, because this is how Hatixja of "Kurum" and Mirela of Babloku did the shopping.

Minister Kumbaro and the owner of the company "Kurum" did the same with the environmental permit given to the company "Sokolaj Sh.pk" for the illegal import of toxic waste iron and scrap.
