While countries in the region mobilize due to tensions with Iran, in Albania several former military units and State Reserve properties were given for 1 euro to businessman Gjergj Luca and are today used for fishing industry activities.
The escalation of the situation around Iran, the joint US-Israeli military operation, the reported death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and Iran's retaliatory attacks in several parts of the Middle East have put many countries in motion. France, Germany, etc., have taken immediate measures, while mobilization has also begun in the region.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called an emergency meeting of the national security council, citing regional proximity and the presence of a US base in Souda, Crete. Bulgaria also convened the Security Council and has put military structures in motion.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić warned that the conflict was "long in the making" and would not end soon. He announced plans to strengthen Serbia's air defense capabilities while maintaining the peace.
But while the entire region is mobilized, the only country that is not "adding water to the fire" is Albania. Moreover, our country has been declared an enemy state by Tehran, due to the closure of the embassy and the MEK camp.
In contrast to the countries in the region that have military arsenals, bases, and departments, in Albania all the military departments have been taken over by Gjergj Luca. Although they could be used very well in times of crisis, they are now used to keep fish.
Edi Rama has given 72 thousand m2 of tunnels and 148 thousand m2 of land and buildings to the State Reserves in Elbasan, a military unit in Gramsh, the mining park in Prrenjas and the former sugar factory in Maliq, and has also made ready reserve warehouses in Fier and a military unit in Vlora. All for 1 euro. More specifically:
-With DCM No. 266, dated 29.03.2017, Gjergj Luca is the beneficiary of the property "Buildings and land, of the State Material Reserves Agency Labinot, Elbasan (remaining part)", under the administrative responsibility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the General Directorate of State Reserves, the Regional Directorate of State Reserves Elbasan, with a total area of 52 514 (fifty-two thousand five hundred and fourteen) m2, of which 11 659.63 (eleven thousand six hundred and fifty-nine point sixty-three) m2 is the area of buildings and 40 854.37 (forty thousand eight hundred and fifty-four point thirty-seven) m2 is the functional area.
-With VKM no. 526, dated 25.07.2019, Gjergj Luca is the beneficiary of the property property no. 338, named "Former Military Department no. 5012/20", located in Çekrez, Gramsh, with a total area of 28,960 m², of which the construction area is 4,185.48 m2 and the functional area is 24,774.52 m2, with property no. 257/1, land registry number 2167, under the administration of the Ministry of Defense, for a period of 20 years.
-With VKM No. 376, dated 21.06.2023, Gjergj Luca is the beneficiary of the property Property No. 338, named “Former Military Department No. 5012/20”, located in Çekrez, Gramsh, under the administration of the Ministry of Defense, leased at a rate of 1 Euro/Contract to the company “Rozafa” Shpk. / Pamphlet
