In July 2020, Elbasan was shocked by the murder of Florian Lamçe. Sokol Sanxhaktari was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison, while his accomplice, Adriano Hajdari, was sentenced to 5 years and 4 months. But behind this case lies a dark history that justice has not dared to touch.

A premeditated crime or a random fight?

According to the court file and environmental wiretaps, Lamçe was tortured to death by the Sanxhaktar, after being suspected of stealing 10 million euros from "Rozafa City", a business linked to oligarch Gjergj Luca.

It is even said that Luca had promised the Sanxatari half the amount if he found and returned the money.

If these suspicions are true, then we are dealing with a premeditated crime and an attempt to cover up the tracks.

The main question is: why was Gjergj Luca never investigated?

Captured justice and connections to power; the case shows once again that in Albania justice only works for the weak.

While Sanxhaktari and Hajdari were convicted, Gjergj Luca's name was never mentioned in the investigation, even though the main motive for the murder was related to a large sum of money from his business.

Was there any intervention to protect Luca?

Were his political connections used to avoid investigation?

The lack of answers to these questions clearly shows that justice is biased and controlled by large financial interests.

Why is the state silent?

This case should be reopened. It is not normal that a murder motivated by such a large sum of money does not have an in-depth investigation into all parties involved.

If justice continues to protect the strong and punish only the perpetrators, then Albania remains a country where the law does not apply equally to everyone.

In the face of such a flagrant case, the state's silence is an open admission of its capture. Will the prosecution dare to reopen the case? Or will we continue to see selective justice, where the oligarchs remain untouchable?/ Tracts
