At least three people have been killed and eight others injured in a knife attack in the western city of Solingen, Germany.
According to "Bild", a man stabbed passers-by during a festival in the city center. The festival was organized for the 650th anniversary of the city of Solingen
The author is believed to have fled the scene and is being sought, meanwhile the city authorities have asked people to leave the area.
The victims are a woman and two men from Solingen and Düsseldorf. Based on the circumstances of the event, investigators classify the crime as a terrorist attack.
"The attacker stabbed people randomly with a knife. That is why we are currently investigating an attack," said police authorities.
