Six people were injured in a stabbing attack at a school in the US state of Washington, following a fight.
According to police, five students and a security guard were transported to the hospital on Thursday. Authorities say all of the injured are in stable condition.
The suspect in the attack, a student at Foss High School, has been detained by police. He was also injured during the incident.
He is facing five charges of first-degree assault, while investigations into the full circumstances of the incident continue.
Following the incident, school administrators announced that the institution will remain temporarily closed. According to an official announcement on the school's website, classes are expected to resume on Monday, May 4, with counselors on hand to support students and staff.
