Donald Trump has refused to say whether this is the end of Washington's support for Ukraine.
The two leaders are now answering questions in the Oval Office.
Trump was asked whether today's summit was "with or without a deal."
He told reporters: "I can never say that.
"It's never the end of the road.
"People are being killed and we want to stop this. So I wouldn't say it's the end of the road. No, I think we have a good chance of doing it now."
Trump adds that he "believes" Putin also wants to end the war.
