The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, during his speech at the Bled forum in Slovenia, said that the EU should change its approach to the countries of the Western Balkans regarding their membership, since according to him, there may come a time when "no we will be more enthusiastic about becoming part of the European Union".
He also added that our people are welcome in the EU, while our country is not.
"We are Euro-optimistic countries, we are countries of fun and sunshine. We don't have problems with our neighbors, we have finally given results against crime. But the question arises, sometimes EU leaders don't know what they are looking for. We we know what it takes, we want to be part of the EU.
If we want to have the enlargement of the EU, which is a two-way street, it is also in the interest of the EU. I think that after some time we will give another party the opportunity to be involved in the Western Balkans.
Our people are integrated in the EU, we have no workers in our country because everyone is in the EU. Our people are welcome in the EU, while our country is NOT. How can we make the partnership as close as possible, we don't need the Western Balkans as a crisis region. The EU's interest is to have as many members as possible.
If we do not change something, you can be sure that after some time it will come to Euroscepticism and we will give the opportunity to a third party and we will no longer have that enthusiasm to be part of them.
And something, my friend Dimitri said something about the workers, our people are integrated in the EU, we don't have workers in our country because everyone is in the EU, and the question is how is it possible that our people welcomed in Europe, but not our countries?
2030 is our moment for us, for Montenegro, we cannot change the opinion of the EU but the key thing is to know the rules. But it's not right to say do this, maybe it's not the moment, but let's wait for another moment ," Abazovic said.
