Since the beginning of the war between Ukraine and Russia, Europe has been under the pressure of the escalation of the war all the time.
The head of Germany's largest munitions firm, Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, told the BBC that Europe will need 10 years to be fully ready to defend itself.
He stated that currently the ammunition reserves are "empty".
Former US President Donald Trump previously stated that he would not protect NATO members who do not pay their dues and would even "encourage" the aggressors to "do whatever they want with them".
Papperger said it would take a long time to prepare against an aggressor who wants to fight against NATO.
"To be really prepared, we need 10 years. We need to produce 1.5 million cartridges in Europe" , said Papperger.
He added that a large amount of European ammunition was sent to Ukraine, leaving few reserves.
"As long as we have a war, we have to help Ukraine, but later it will take us at least 5-10 years to really fill the ammunition stocks," said the head of the German ammunition firm.
