A serious accident was recorded this afternoon in Greece, where a city bus collided with a tram in Piraeus.
As a result of the violent collision, it is learned that 30 passengers were injured. The accident occurred when the bus stopped at the station to let passengers off and the tram collided with it.
In videos and photos published by Greek media, the tram appears to have crashed into the back of the bus while several people are sitting on the sidewalk.
A bus passenger spoke on camera about the accident, saying she saw people fall to the ground because the shock from the collision was so strong.
"The bus had stopped to make a stop. They hadn't had time to close the doors and the tram came from behind. I was shocked, others fell to the ground. It was very dangerous, there were elderly people, others had neck problems. Many fell to the ground because the shock was very strong, because I, who was sitting, hugged the person in front of me," the woman said.
According to initial information and statements from the tram driver, the driver felt unwell during the journey and collided with the city bus. Before the collision, the train's emergency braking system was activated and limited the severity of the collision.
Due to the road accident, traffic on Mikras Asias Road is particularly heavy with cars creating kilometer-long queues.
