Ceasefire agreement reached between Hamas and Israel!

Hamas to release 33 hostages, Israel begins withdrawal...

A ceasefire agreement is finally reached between Hamas and Israel.

After more than a year of fighting, good news has finally arrived for residents who have faced the horrors of war. The agreement includes a cessation of fighting and the release of a number of Palestinian hostages and prisoners.

According to Sky News, this agreement would be a major breakthrough in a war that has left tens of thousands of people dead and many more injured and displaced from their homes.

The agreement outlines an initial six-week phase of the ceasefire that includes a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from central Gaza and the return of Palestinians to northern Gaza, the Reuters news agency reported, citing an official briefed on the agreement.

Hamas will release 33 hostages, including all women, children and men over the age of 50, the agency said. In exchange, Israel will release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

There were reports of Palestinians celebrating in Gaza as news of the possible ceasefire deal spread.

Donald Trump, who will be president of the United States again in a few days, said: "We have a deal for the hostages in the Middle East. They will be released soon."

The implementation of the agreement will be guaranteed by Qatar, Egypt and the US.

The Israeli government will vote on the Gaza deal on Thursday, an official said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously said he was determined to destroy Hamas after the Palestinian militant group killed 1,200 people and took about 250 hostages when they entered Israel from Gaza on October 7, 2023.

More than 45,000 Palestinians have been killed in the subsequent Israeli offensive on Gaza, Hamas' health ministry says.

Full details of the agreement

The agreement will be divided into three phases, the first of which lasts six weeks.

This will include a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from central Gaza and the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza.

The agreement stipulates that 600 trucks of humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza each day of the ceasefire, 300 of which will be allocated to the north.

Hamas will release the hostages over six weeks at a rate of three hostages each week, with the remainder to be released by the end of the first phase. The remains of those who died will then be sent.

Israel will release all Palestinian women, children and 18-year-olds detained since October 7th until the end of the first phase.

Israel will release 30 Palestinian prisoners for every civilian hostage and 50 Palestinian prisoners for every Israeli soldier released by Hamas.

The total number of Palestinians released will depend on the hostages released and could be between 990 and 1,650.

Negotiations for the second phase of the agreement will begin on the 16th day of the first phase.

These are expected to include the release of all remaining hostages, including male Israeli soldiers, as well as a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops.

The third phase is expected to include the return of all troops from Gaza and the start of reconstruction in Gaza supervised by Egypt, Qatar and the UN.

The implementation of the agreement will be guaranteed by Qatar, Egypt and the US.
