An Iranian delegation is expected to travel to Islamabad on Tuesday to begin talks with the United States. The American delegation left today, but there have been dilemmas on the Iranian side.
But according to reports from The New York Times, the Iranian delegation is expected to include the speaker of parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
At the same time, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has hardened his tone toward Washington, accusing the U.S. of sending “unconstructive and contradictory” signals aimed at forcing Iran to surrender. In a public response, he stressed that there is a deep, historical distrust of the American government in the country.
Pezeshkian underlined that Tehran has no intention of succumbing to international pressure, stating that "Iranians do not submit to force," while tensions between the two countries continue to remain high despite signals for the resumption of dialogue.
