The first meeting and the last video call that ended "suddenly": What
The 19-year-old deceased

Following the decision to remand the three young men accused of abandoning 19-year-old Myrto in a square in Argostoli, Kefalonia, leading her to her death, authorities are still investigating the case in depth.

The 66-year-old man who sent the 19-year-old money on the fateful night has testified twice. The first time he described how he met Myrto and what happened on the fateful night, when he sent her money.

" I gave a statement that lasted about four hours and they called me back. They asked me for an extension and I went and handed over the cell phone," the 66-year-old told MEGA .

He claimed that he was invited to a group of friends and Myrto was also present: "There (X person) called me for the first time and we had a conversation. He introduced himself to me as his friend and also said the name Myrto, but I didn't particularly remember it. I wasn't particularly interested ."

The 66-year-old described how in the conversation they said " five things, what are you doing, how are you. Okay, thank you. Where are you going to spend Easter and the rest. And I'm thinking about starting a job, but I don't know where to go. She was telling me something like that. Well, okay, I told her. We didn't say much. It was just our first contact . A video call ."

Then " there was a communication via messages, on Holy Monday or Holy Tuesday, with the deceased. Like, what are you doing? How are you? Ah, typical stuff. Nothing special ."

" On the fateful night, at 11:38 p.m., the deceased called me on video, dressed normally, sitting on some steps, outside a pharmacy or bank. I didn't understand. Not in a good mood and told me that she left the house. She got into an argument and left the house and that she was going to stand on the benches and she's done it before and she can't, they don't understand and things like that. I told her okay, they're parents, there's a generation gap. She insisted, "I don't have money, I'm low on battery and I'm going to stand on the bench". Something like that. I mean, she insisted. I say to her "look, you don't have anywhere to go to a friend of yours, you know, to stay with someone, think logically and see what you're going to do". "No, I don't have anyone". So, I say to her, look, give me an IBAN so I can put some money in it so you can go find a room to stay, be safe, get a charger so..." You can talk. Take a... have some gin or wine to relax, take a shower, go to bed and tomorrow think about what you're going to do. "Yeah, I don't know," she would say something like that. "No thanks, I don't want to" and something like that. I insisted... She didn't send me an IBAN. She sent me a voice message which I deposited and told me to send it with IRIS. And she sent me a number ," he said.

The 66-year-old continued by saying that Myrto sent him a voice message " thank you very much and you helped me, something like that." At "4:02 I got a video call from a room where she was in bed, dressed. I think she had a black dress on. In better condition. Face down? Face down, yes. With the phone in front of her face. I mean, I was looking at her and she said, "I found a room, I'm fine." I said, "Okay, calm down, good night," and so on. And while she was talking, she went to tell me something. I heard the door open. I heard a noise, let's put it this way. I assumed the door opened and that someone came in because she said, "oh oh (...)." I don't know if Dimitris said it or not, I don't remember. I can't put my hand in the fire. And she hung up on me suddenly. Like that. "That was the last time I saw her ," he described.
