CNN releases audio, Trump admits in 2021 to possessing classified documents

An audio in which Donald Trump admits in a meeting in late July 2021 at a golf club in New Jersey that he had classified documents was made public by CNN.

This discussion is a critical part of the evidence against the former US president and the charges against him. According to CNN, Trump in this conversation refers to a document from the Pentagon that deletes plans for an American attack on Iran.

In the audio, Trump is heard saying to his interlocutors "these are the documents. These were prepared by the military and given to me", emphasizing that these documents remain classified.

"I could have declassified him as president. Now I can't, but this remains a secret," adds the former American president.

Recall that Trump has pleaded not guilty to 37 charges brought against him in connection with the management of classified documents found at his resort in Mar a Lago, Florida.
