The body of Silvio Berlusconi is expected to be sent today to his villa in Arcore, outside Milan. His funeral, a public expense, will take place on Wednesday at Milan's cathedral, Italian media reported. 

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, known as 'Cavalieri', has died at the age of 86. He died at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. Berlusconi, whose name has been embroiled in several sex scandals and corruption allegations, suffered from chronic leukemia. In April he was treated in hospital for a lung infection.

Berlusconi headed the Italian government 4 times as Prime Minister from 1994 to 2011, founded and directed 'Forza Italia', founder of Mediaset and Fininvest, paving the way for a television and financial empire and owner for 31 years of Milan great with which he won a total of 29 trophies.
