The Conservatives in the United Kingdom have recorded one of the weakest local election results in a decade, also considered the "big test" before the general election.
According to the BBC , the conservatives have lost almost half of the mandates they competed for, at a time when there are only a few votes left to count.
Unlike them, Labor has won the most important city councils and numerous regional mayorships.
In his reaction, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak described the results as "disappointing", but added that Labor is unlikely to win the general election.
"Labour really won this time, but the voters know that it is the Conservatives who are building a brighter future for Great Britain", declared Sunak .
In total, the Conservatives lost 10 councils and over 400 councilors in England. While the Labor Party won more, securing 169 new councilors and advancing in those areas where they believe they will win in the general elections.
The parliamentary opposition also won all three newly created regional mayoral posts in East Midlands , North East , York and North Yorkshire .
