Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Yermak's resignation, claimed that this development, amid the corruption scandal in Ukraine, indicates a crisis in Kiev. He continued to pour 'gasoline on the fire', stating that the corruption that has engulfed Ukraine is related to the money that the US and the EU have given to Kiev.
"The events taking place in Kiev indicate a deep political crisis, caused by corruption scandals. I don't think anyone can answer the question now where this will ultimately lead. The consequences could be very different. All this corruption was and is connected with the money that the Americans and Europeans gave for the war, this is a fact. And accordingly, both in America and in European countries, they are probably wondering what will happen to the Kiev regime tomorrow. This is also clear," he said.
Some Moscow figures, such as Putin's investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev and former President Dmitry Medvedev, have seized on the resignation as an opportunity to attack Ukraine. Peskov also gave a more specific timeline for when Putin will meet with Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff.
" In the first half of the week. We will announce the date in due course ," Peskov told reporters.
