Epstein dossier, chaos in Trump camp; FBI's Bongino clashes with Pam Bondi

The Epstein dossier has created chaos among President Donald Trump's supporters. The White House's claim that it does not have a list of Epstein's alleged clients and that he was not murdered has caused unrest within the administration as well.

Influential people and commentators in the Trump camp, including FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, appear to be unhappy with the allegations.

"This stinks, it just stinks," Jesse Watters, the host of Fox News' main show, would comment.

He added that “the feds spent decades investigating Epstein and have had full access to his property for years, but they still can’t give us a definitive answer. This is nothing new; the government has kept us in the dark for years.”

Watters was careful not to directly criticize the Trump administration, blaming "the feds," while describing Pam Bondi, the Attorney General, and Kash Patel, the FBI director, as "great Americans."

But Dan Bongino, the FBI deputy director and former right-wing podcast host, spent years spreading conspiracy theories about Epstein and is said to have had a falling out with Bond over how the Epstein files were handled.

"Bongino is furious and out of control," a source close to Bongino told NBC News, adding, "This has ruined his career. He's threatening to resign and burn Pam if she's not fired."

Asked by reporters if Bongino would stay in his position, Trump said, "I think so... I talked to him, Dan Bongino is a very good guy. I've known him a long time."

But, within the right-wing sphere, debates continue.

"Pam Blondi covered up child sex crimes when she was Florida Attorney General," wrote Laura Loomer, the 32-year-old conspiracy theorist whose influence over Trump has been questioned.

Loomer accused Bondi of failing to take legal action against Epstein, despite lawsuits filed against him in Florida.

"She's afraid this will be discussed and come to light. She should be fired. She has tarnished the investigation," Loomer concluded.

Epstein died by suicide while in federal custody in August 2019, but his death has been questioned by right-wing conspiracy theorists, who believe he may have been murdered before implicating famous associates.

One of the most widely held theories has been that Epstein kept a "client list" of people who participated in illegal activities. There are claims that the list includes the names of prominent politicians and celebrities with left-wing leanings.

Bondi appeared to confirm the existence of such a list during an interview with Fox News in February. Bondi was asked if “the Justice Department could release the list of Jeffrey Epstein’s clients?”

She replied, “I have the file on my desk now to review.”

This added fuel to the fire of conspiracy theories, but the flames were extinguished last Monday, when the Justice Department said Epstein did not keep a client list and no more files related to his sex trafficking investigation would be made public.

The White House claimed that Bondi had spoken about “the entirety of all documents and the connection to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes,” which pleased few right-wing commentators, many of whom have built careers spreading conspiracy theories. /Adapted from Pamphlet/
