According to the documents, Epstein had claimed that he could provide the Kremlin with compromising information about Donald Trump, on the eve of the Helsinki summit in 2018. In other emails, he describes the activities of Robert Maxwell and his connections to foreign intelligence services.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's name is mentioned 1,056 times in more than three million documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier convicted of sexual abuse who was found dead in prison in 2019.
Moscow is cited a total of 9,629 times. Although there is no concrete evidence of a direct link between Epstein and the Kremlin, American investigators consider such a high number of references unusual.
According to American intelligence services, Epstein may have been involved in espionage networks due to his ties to Robert Maxwell, a former Moscow agent in the 1970s.
According to the Daily Mail , Epstein is suspected of running a vast sexual blackmail operation (“compromise”) on behalf of Russian intelligence, recruiting women, including from Russia, for his network of influencers. The documents mention emails and letters that discuss possible meetings with Putin, including communications from 2011–2014.
In a 2014 email, Japanese entrepreneur Joey Ito mentions the possibility of Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn, joining a meeting with the Russian president. However, after the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine, the idea was abandoned. In other emails, Epstein refers to the “Putin documents,” without clarifying their contents.
Epstein had built a vast international network of political and financial contacts. He made payments to British political figures and communicated with former Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland about meetings with world leaders, including Putin.
According to the documents, Epstein had claimed that he could provide the Kremlin with compromising information about Donald Trump, on the eve of the Helsinki summit in 2018. In other emails, he describes the activities of Robert Maxwell and his connections to foreign intelligence services.
In July 2019, after his arrest in New York, Epstein's lawyers informed the FBI that he was willing to cooperate. Three weeks later, he was found dead in his cell. US authorities ruled the death a suicide, a conclusion that continues to arouse suspicion and debate.
Suspicions that everything was organized by the Russians
According to the Daily Mail, which refers to intelligence experts, Jeffrey Epstein, the American pedophile financier found dead in a New York prison cell in 2019, was running the largest sex operation to entrap powerful people in the world, on behalf of the former Russian KGB, at the time he offered women for sexual services.
The release of 3 million files lends more credence to claims by senior security officials that Epstein was working for Moscow, and perhaps even Israel, when he facilitated questionable contacts with women and girls for some of the world's most powerful people.
The leaked files include, according to the British tabloid, 1,056 documents mentioning Russian President Putin and 9,629 referring to Moscow. Epstein also appears to have secured an audience with Putin after his conviction for crimes and paedophilia in 2008.
Sources referred to by The Daily Mail say that this also explains why the former American financier lived a very extravagant and wealthy life, even though there is no documentary evidence linking Putin and his espionage directly to Epstein's illegal activities.
But sources cited by the British tabloid claim that while US intelligence agencies had been "monitoring" Epstein's Russian connections for years, their British counterparts were hesitant because of the former American financier's ties to the former Prince Andrew, the Queen's son.
According to US intelligence experts, they believe Epstein was involved in the world of espionage through business ties with Robert Maxwell, the former media mogul, who in fact had an intimate relationship with his daughter, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for child sex trafficking and other criminal offenses related to her ex-boyfriend, the American financier Epstein.
Maxwell died in the same mysterious circumstances as Epstein, with the former media mogul's body found in the Atlantic Ocean in 1991, after appearing to have fallen from a yacht into the ocean. Security sources, according to The Daily Mail, believe that former media mogul Maxwell was recruited by the Russians in the 1970s, when he worked to extradite Russian Jews to Israel with the involvement of the Israeli secret service, Mossad.
Meanwhile, another document reveals that the FBI had warned that Epstein was also believed to be a spy for the Israeli Mossad, as he was close to former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and had been trained as an Israeli spy when Barak was Israeli prime minister.
The Daily Mail also writes about Epstein's connections with people close to President Trump and his contacts with other European politicians, such as the former Secretary General of the Council of Europe, the Norwegian Jagland, suggesting that he pass a message to Putin on how to treat US President Trump.
