NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has reacted to the incident with Russian drones in Polish airspace.
He says that Russia's violation of Polish airspace is not an isolated incident, and described it as a reckless act, emphasizing that it is a reckless act.
"An analysis is underway to shed full light on the incident, but what is clear is that this violation is not an isolated incident. Whether intentional or not, it is a reckless act," he said.
Rutte also stressed that the overnight intervention together with allies was successful.
"Our air defense was activated and successfully ensured the protection of NATO territory, as intended. In addition to Poland, several allies were also involved. These included Polish F-16s, Dutch F-35s, Italian AWACS, military transport tankers and German Patriots. I congratulate the pilots and everyone who contributed to this quick and competent response," Rutte declared.
