A baby died of a heart attack this morning on an Air France flight from Nairobi to Paris, despite doctors' efforts to keep him alive, according to the airline.

"The baby, who was suffering from a serious heart problem, was coming to France for treatment," Air France said in a statement, adding that all health protocols had been followed.

According to the airline, based on protocol, the crew contacted the competent services in Paris to be informed about how the incident should be handled.

The crew then turned to the passengers and several doctors on board tried to help them. However, their intervention failed to save the baby.

The baby was on the flight with an escort and was going to Paris for treatment.
