Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today accused the UN Security Council of aggravating the crisis in the Gaza Strip due to its "one-sided" attitude.
Erdogan, who has accused Israel of "genocide" of Palestinians in Gaza, also blames the international community for "not opposing the Israeli regime's illegal attacks against civilians".
“ The Security Council exacerbated the crisis through its unilateral stance, instead of ending the bloodshed, securing a ceasefire as soon as possible and taking measures to avoid civilian casualties. It is impossible for an institution that cannot deal with the collective punishment of the population of Gaza to give hope to humanity and guarantee world peace and stability. UN agencies, especially the Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA), have become dysfunctional because of the Security Council ," he said.
