Donald Trump is considering a 14-point proposal put forward by Iran. He has repeatedly cast doubt on its chances of success, describing it as unsatisfactory.
But what does Iran's 14-point plan include?
While a full list is not yet available, the conditions include the following, according to the semi-official Iranian state news agency Tasnim.
-Guarantees of non-aggression from the US
-Withdrawal of US forces from areas around Iran
-Lifting the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz
-A "new mechanism" for the strait
-End of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict in Lebanon
-Releasing frozen Iranian assets
-Ending the war with Iran within 30 days, contrary to the two-month ceasefire proposed by the US
Negotiations on Iran's nuclear program will take place after the end of the war, for another month.
An earlier version of the proposal included a condition that Washington recognize Iran's right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, even if Iran agrees to suspend it. Without making all 14 points public, it is unclear whether that condition remains in effect.
