Cryptocurrency "Dogecoin", whose logo is a super cute dog, has experienced growth since Donald Trump was declared the winner of the US presidential election last week, reports the "AP" agency.
It continues to grow. Trump on Wednesday appointed Elon Musk as one of the leaders of the "Department for Government Efficiency", which is not a government agency and has received the acronym "DOGE".
"Dogecoin" is a cryptocurrency, which was originally created as a joke. But, over time, "Dogecoin" has gained a large number of fans who have periodically increased its price. Like other cryptocurrencies, supporters say that can be used to buy and sell things online, without having to worry about whether a central bank or government will affect the number in circulation.
A Dogecoin was worth less than 16 cents just before US Election Day on November 5th. But, the value has gone to nearly 40 cents.
Cryptocurrencies have generally seen gains since Trump was elected president. "Bitcoin", which is the most famous cryptocurrency, reached a record figure of 92 thousand dollars, while it had started this year at a value of 43 thousand dollars.
The reason is after Trump had said that he wants the US to be the "cryptocurrency capital of the world" and to create "a strategic reserve" of "Bitcoins".
