Terrible scenes of violence took over Athens on Monday evening at the AEK stadium. Dinamo Zagreb hooligans attacked AEK fans. As a result, a 22-year-old Greek man lost his life. He was stabbed to death.
The police have arrested 98 people in connection with this event. Among them are 87 Croats, one Albanian, one Austrian, one Bosnian, one German and five Greeks.
Eight people were also injured in the incident. Among them, a 17-year-old who has severe blows to the head after being hit with stones. There are also 3 Greeks and 5 Croats hospitalized in the hospital.
The scenes of violence happened before the AEK-Dinamo Zagreb match that is expected to be played this Tuesday and is valid for the Champions League qualifiers.

As the Greek media write, Croatian fans have arrived in Athens organized, despite a decision by UEFA to prohibit them from moving in transfers.
When they went to Athens, they were accompanied by fans of Panathinaikos, another Greek team. Witnesses at the scene said the attack appeared to be organized. A bar owner explained what happened in the "lesson" of the Croatian hooligans.

"Around 10:00 p.m., the bar was half full. Someone came and warned me. An AEK fan came and told me that the Croatians were coming. He told me to send people away. After 10 minutes they started to light fires. About 200-300 people started breaking everything. On the way down, the bars emptied, they started throwing the chairs and ran into 20-30 AEK fans", he described.
He further said that the 22-year-old was found killed with a knife and was covered in blood. Meanwhile, a Croat was also covered in blood in a serious condition. The Greek authorities are continuing the investigation into this event.
