Ukraine has retaliated after yesterday's attack. Kiev has attacked the Russian city of Belgorod, where so far 14 people have been killed, one of them a child, and dozens have been injured, including four children, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced.
"The armed forces of Ukraine attacked the center of Belgorod. According to preliminary information, there are dead and injured," governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on Telegram and called on citizens to go to shelters.
In addition, during the attack, several shells hit the residential part of Belgorod, the governor specified.
According to him, one person was killed when a shell hit a private house. Four people were injured, among them a 10-year-old child. 10 private houses, two cars and water pipes were also damaged.
Several videos shared by the Nexta agency show a square in the center of the city burning. Cars can also be seen burning.
As the correspondent of RIA Novosti reported, the explosions occurred around 15:00, after which black smoke appeared over the city. A few minutes later the siren sounded. Security services blocked the intersection of Bogdan Hmeljnicki Street and Slavi Avenue.
