Silvio Berlusconi's will has been opened. According to what the Ansa agency learns, the reading was done in the office of the Milanese notary Roveda in front of two witnesses, lawyers Luca Fossati of the firm Chiomenti and Carlo Rimini. The reading for the children of the founder of Mediaset and Forza Italia is now expected.
Berlusconi, a media mogul decided to enter Italian political life, is thought to have left behind a fortune of nearly 4 billion euros. He still had shares in the publishing house "Mondadori", in the financial services firm Mediolanum and the largest Italian commercial broadcaster "Mediaset", reports "Forbes". In August 2016, Berlusconi agreed to sell 80% of AC Milan, one of the most successful football teams in Europe, to the Chinese corporation Sino-Europe Sports Investment for $820 million.
Besides them, Berlusconi was also linked to a fortune in Stock Exchange shares with a market value of around 2.9 billion euros, to which is added a network of other companies, as well as villas and real estate. The Monza football team or even the digital companies Satispay and Soldo, the fleet of three planes and a helicopter, are some of the assets that Berlusconi left behind.
Berlusconi began his career as a singer on cruise ships and in nightclubs. In 1961, he graduated in law and founded "Edilnord", a construction and development company in Milan. In 2011, he was forced to resign as prime minister and was removed from parliament two years later. His wealth also included shares that Berlusconi transferred to his five sons.
Among the many villas and properties that will end up in the hands of the heirs, the most famous is undoubtedly the building in Arcore, which was the residence of the former prime minister for almost 50 years, since he bought it in 1974.
Villa San Martino, in Arcore, complete with art gallery, library of ten thousand volumes, furnishings, large courtyard and stables, was registered directly in Berlusconi's name and not, as in the case of other properties, which are registered in the name of the companies he owned.
The residence is 3,500 square meters and if an account is made of its value and the other villas he had in the area Villa Belvedere in Macherio and Villa Campari on Lake Maggiore, the value reaches approximately 100 million euros.
