A Ukrainian attack with "Storm Shadow" donated by Great Britain has taken the lives of Vladimir Putin's top military officers who were sheltering in a bunker in the Kursk region.
Lieutenant Colonel Valery Tereshchenko was targeted along with seven other senior officers.
One of them included Colonel Pavel Maletsky, 39, the commander of the 656th special battalion.
The fatal explosion occurred in the city of Lgov on December 30.
Storm Shadow missiles are a key weapon in the West's arsenal as they continue to help Ukraine repel Russian troops.
The 450 kg missiles are capable of evading Russian air defenses with ease and accurately blasting targets at a whopping 600 mph.

The high-profile victims were only revealed today after details of their funerals emerged.
Putin has yet to officially announce the deaths, while Russian media remain silent on the blast.
But a tribute to Tereshchenko has been posted by the Russian Officials Hockey League on Telegram.
"With bitterness and sorrow in our hearts," said the published message, which also claimed Tereshchenko died in the rocket attack.
He played a leading role in Russia's illegal occupation of Ukraine since he joined the Kremlin in October 2022.
A friend of Maletsky also confirmed the colonel's death in the same attack.

Six other Russians were also killed along with two of Russia's top front-line soldiers, Ukrainian media reported.
Another 22 soldiers are believed to have been injured in the blast.
Also, Captain Konstantin Nagayko, 29, is in critical condition after a rocket exploded in Russia's Ivanovo region, Ukrainian military intelligence said.
Nagayko, whom Kiev has accused of war crimes, is said to have undergone multiple operations after "all his vital organs were damaged".
Russia has claimed that Ukraine has carried out a series of assassinations since the start of the war in February 2022.
General Igor Kirillov, 54, was killed when a bomb exploded on an electric scooter outside his apartment in Moscow.
Dramatic footage shows the moment the device exploded just seconds after the general and his aide Ilya Polikarpov were leaving the apartment.

About 200g of TNT stuck to the scooter is believed to have been detonated remotely.
The FSB alleges that Kurbanov was offered $100,000 and European passports to carry out the assassination from Kiev.
Volodymyr Zelensky's office later denied Ukrainian involvement in Kirillov's death. / The Sun-Pamphlet/
