A furious clash has erupted – albeit from afar – between former US President Donald Trump and rock legend Bruce Springsteen. It all started during a concert in Manchester, UK, at the start of Springsteen's European tour, "Land of Hope and Dreams."
On the British stage, Springsteen openly declared:
"My homeland, the America I love, the America I have written about and which has been a beacon of hope and freedom for 250 years, is today in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treacherous administration."
That was enough for Trump to explode on his "Social Truth" platform with unusual vocabulary even by his standards:
“ I see this overrated Bruce Springsteen going to a foreign country to talk bad about the president of the United States. I’ve never liked him – neither his music nor his radical leftist politics. Above all, he’s not talented at all. He’s just a boring, obnoxious meddler who has passionately supported the crook Joe Biden – a mentally incompetent idiot, the worst president in our history, who almost destroyed the country ,” he said.
Trump continues by mocking Springsteen for his physical appearance and age:
" This 'dried-up rock wrinkle' should shut up until he gets back to America! " he added.
Such clashes are more than just a personal feud: they reveal the deep cultural divide in American society, where public artistic figures increasingly become powerful voices against or in support of political elites. Springsteen — known for his progressive stances — has been an outspoken critic of Trump since the 2016 campaign.
