
The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, held a brief conversation with the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, within the framework of the European Political Community summit taking place in Tirana, Albania.
According to information from the Cypriot website sigmalive.com, Christodoulides told President Erdogan that, for there to be real progress, both on the Cyprus issue and on Euro-Turkish issues, they need to talk to each other, and especially now that an EU envoy has been appointed.
The Cypriot president also stressed that it is now up to them to seize this perspective.
For his part, the Turkish President said that he is in favor of dialogue and that they are interested in Euro-Turkish relations, the same sources report.
