John Kirby, the spokesman for the National Security of the White House has reacted regarding the terrorist attack in Moscow.
Kirby told reporters: "There is no indication at this time that Ukraine, or Ukrainians, were involved in the shooting... We are looking into it, but I would rule out at this early hour any ties to Ukraine."
In response to whether this is a sign of cracks in Vladimir Putin's regime, Kirby said:
"There are people in Moscow and in Russia who oppose the way Mr. Putin is governing the country, but I don't think we can, at this early hour, make a connection between the mall attack and political motivations. I think we just need more time and we need to learn more information.”
At least 40 people were killed and 100 wounded, according to the Baza Telegram channel quoted by Novaya Gazeta, in the shooting at the concert hall in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow. About 200 people are still inside.
