The Israeli military announced on Wednesday morning that it had successfully struck centrifuge production facilities in Tehran overnight.
Specifically, in a post on X, the Israeli military states that it struck "centrifuge production facilities and several weapons production plants" overnight.
"More than 50 Air Force fighter jets have carried out a series of attacks against military targets in the Tehran area in recent hours.
During the attack, several weapons production facilities were targeted. Among the weapons production facilities attacked was a facility that produced raw materials and components for the assembly of surface-to-surface missiles that the Iranian regime has launched and continues to launch against the State of Israel.
The Associated Press reported that a large explosion was heard around 5 a.m. Wednesday in Tehran, following other explosions heard earlier in the night.
Iranian authorities have denied the attacks, which have become increasingly frequent as the Israeli air campaign has intensified since its start on Friday.
At least one attack appears to have targeted the eastern Hakimiyeh neighborhood of Tehran, where the Revolutionary Guard academy is located.
Traffic came to a standstill on westbound roads and central Tehran was deserted, with many shops shuttered, including the ancient Grand Bazaar. The bazaar has only been closed in times of crisis, such as during the 2022 anti-government protests and the coronavirus pandemic.
