Inflation increased again in December, reaching the level of 4%. Data from the statistics institute indicate that the index that measures consumer prices has increased in the last three months of the year.
The annual average inflation in 2023 resulted in 4.8% from 6.7% that was a year ago, remaining for the second year in a row above the objective of the Bank of Albania.
While record oil prices were the main source of inflation during 2022, in the year we left behind, food prices made the biggest contribution.
Vegetables and fruits are the ones that have remained in double-digit growth with 10-30%, while a number of other groups have also gained recognition, where among the most important are the group of furniture, bar-restaurants, the entertainment and culture sector driven by consumption. of tourists.
