The Israeli military (IDF) announced that it had struck the situation room of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force in the heart of Tehran, a structure that it said played a key role in managing Iran's air defense systems.
According to the IDF, the operation took place overnight from Friday into the early hours of Saturday. The Israeli military said the strike destroyed important air defense capabilities and hit one of the main air defense command centers in the Iranian capital.
The IDF added that the same building also housed air defense systems, command centers, logistics depots and other structures that it said belonged to the Iranian regime.
"The attack on the situation room further weakens the Iranians' control and command, as well as their air defenses ," the Israeli military said.
