Military, security and intelligence forces, in service of Khamenei's regime, attacked a hospital in the city of Ilam (western Iran) and used tear gas to arrest and kidnap injured protesters.
Maryam Rajavi (president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran) stated that "the attack by Khamenei's agents on a hospital in Ilam, where tear gas was used to arrest and kidnap injured protesters and detain defenseless civilians, is an unforgivable crime."
This attack occurred just a day after the horrific massacre in Malekshahi, Ilam.
"Khamenei, powerless in the face of the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people, is resorting to maximum cruelty and ruthlessness to suppress the protests, but in reality he is further fanning the flames of resistance. The world must not remain silent in the face of the crimes against humanity committed by the religious fascism that rules Iran," Rajavi said.
The US State Department also described the Islamic Republic regime's brutal attack on a hospital in Malekshahi, Ilam province, as a crime, stating that "the attack on hospital wards, the beating of medical personnel, and the use of tear gas and live ammunition against the wounded are flagrant crimes against humanity."
The State Department emphasized that "hospitals are not battlefields."
"These actions by the Islamic Republic regime constitute a serious violation of international law and reflect the nature of a regime that acts with complete disregard for human life," the response states.
These actions highlight the complete powerlessness of Khamenei and his repressive apparatus in the face of the rebellious youth and the population in rebellion.
