Tensions in the Middle East continue to rise. A senior Iranian official warned of immediate consequences in the event of an attack on the country's energy infrastructure.
Ali Larijani, head of Iran's Security Council, stated that the entire region could face power outages within 30 minutes if Iran's power grid is destroyed.
In a post on the X platform, Larijani referred to a statement he attributed to former US President Donald Trump.
" Trump said we could take out Iran's power grid in an hour, but we didn't ," he wrote.
According to Larijani, such an action would have immediate consequences in the region. “ If they do this, the entire region will be plunged into darkness in less than half an hour ,” he added, claiming that such a situation would create conditions for attacks on US forces in the region.
The statement comes at a time of heightened tension in the Middle East and after harsh rhetorical exchanges between Iranian and American officials.
