Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran is "prepared for peace" and diplomacy with the United States, suggesting that a possible deal between the two countries remains imminent despite threats from Washington.
Speaking to the American television network 'MS NOW', Araghchi stressed that Iran's nuclear program has no military solution.
"A diplomatic solution is at our disposal; we can easily achieve it ," Araghchi said.
He sharply criticized the major buildup of US military forces in the Middle East, which includes two aircraft carriers and dozens of fighter jets, calling it unnecessary and useless.
" I have been in this business for the last 20 years and have negotiated with different parties. I know that an agreement is achievable, but it must be fair and based on a win-win solution for both parties. The military option would only complicate this, would only bring catastrophic consequences, not only for us, perhaps for the entire region and for the entire international community," said the top Iranian diplomat.
Araghchi warned that Iranians are a proud people who respond only to the language of respect and that the US has tried all means against them but has failed.
"Previous American administrations, even the current American administration, have tried almost everything against us, war, sanctions, recovery and everything, but none of them worked," he said.
