Iran has set six conditions to end the war with the United States and Israel, conditions that were published by the regime-friendly Tasnim news agency. The conditions seem very harsh and difficult for the United States to accept.
Iran's 6 conditions:
Condition 1 - Guarantee that the conflict will not recur.
Condition 2 - Closure of American military bases in the region.
Condition 3 - Payment of compensation to Iran.
Condition 4 - Ending the war against all regional groups linked to Iran, such as Hezbollah.
Condition 5 - Implementation of a new legal regime for the Strait of Hormuz;
Condition 6 - Prosecution and extradition of anti-Iranian media operators.
One of the main issues in the war at the moment is precisely condition 5, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump has threatened to bomb Iranian power plants if the regime does not reopen the passage within 48 hours. But Tehran has responded that Hormuz remains open to all navigation, except for ships "linked to enemies of Iran."
The threat of Iranian attacks has kept most ships away from the passage, through which about a fifth of the world's supplies of oil and liquefied natural gas pass, threatening a global energy shock.
