Former US President Bill Clinton has been hospitalized, his spokesman said.
According to his spokesman, Bill Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC on Monday evening for tests and observation after developing a fever.
"He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving," Angel Ureña wrote on X.
The spokesman did not provide further details on the condition of the Democrat from Arkansas, although US media reports indicate that Clinton is expected to recover quickly.
A source close to Clinton told NBC News that the situation is "not serious" and the former president would be "fine."
Clinton, 78, was last hospitalized for six days in 2021 in California after developing a blood infection.
The 42nd US president, who served in the White House from 1993 to 2001, has suffered from heart problems in the past.
It is also known that in 2004, aged 58, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery after doctors found signs of extensive heart disease and, ten years later, he had a blocked artery opened after complaining of chest pains.
Not long after his second surgery, the former president - known for his love of fatty foods - became a vegan. He told Politico in 2016, "I might not be here if I hadn't gone vegan."
Clinton was active on the presidential campaign trail this year, as she traveled the country to promote Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign for president.
Last month, he released his latest book, The Citizen: My Life After the White House.
