Israel declares there will be no temporary ceasefire for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
Israeli Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar said that a temporary ceasefire agreement for the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza "is not on the agenda."
"There is a clear decision from the State of Israel, and in my opinion, it can be expressed more clearly in the coming days: only a complete agreement," Zohar said.
"There is no longer any possibility of a partial agreement. Israel has decided that a partial agreement is not on the agenda. The only thing on the agenda is the end of the war along with, of course, the return of all hostages and the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip," he added.
Zohar's comments come two weeks after Hamas said it had accepted the outline of a 60-day ceasefire deal that would see the release of 10 still-living Israeli prisoners, out of 48 hostages still being held by the terror group in Gaza, at least 20 of whom Israel believes are still alive.
