US President Donald Trump said he is willing to use American aircraft as a security measure to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
In an interview with the Daily Caller, Trump said he would see it as a solution.
"Maybe. we'll do something. They're not our soldiers, but every week, five to seven thousand of them are killed, mostly young people. If I could stop all this and fly a plane every now and then, it would be mostly Europeans, but we, we would help them ," he said.
Trump also stated that a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky seems unlikely, while a trilateral meeting with him is possible.
"A trilateral meeting could happen. I don't know about a bilateral meeting, but a trilateral meeting will happen. But, you know, sometimes people are not ready ," the US president said.
He considered his long-standing relationship with Vladimir Putin to be very good.
"That's why I really thought we would find a solution. I wish there had been," the US president explained, referring to the Alaska summit.
