Kamala Harris ultimately failed to convince a majority of some 244 million American voters with the narrative she built: a former prosecutor who ran against a convict, a women's reproductive rights advocate against the man who helped overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade, a next-generation Democrat who ran against a 78-year-old Republican.
The reasons for its loss are many.
She entered the presidential race at the "last minute" with only three months to prepare her election campaign. When Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race on July 21, Harris officially received the Democrats' blessing, demonstrating impressive organizational skills, the result of work ethic and political dexterity, experts say.
Her campaign raised $200 million in the first week alone, a record in US presidential campaign history, and more than 38,000 people registered on vote.org in the first 48 hours after her candidacy was announced.
In these three months, Kamala Harris was fighting against Donald Trump, but also against the obstacles created for her, even if unintentionally, by Joe Biden.
The trend of the polls that seemed to exist, "went out" in the face of the "Trump effect", after the Republican candidate won, and in fact with a large margin, in most states and above all in seven key ones.
