The Israeli police are treating Sunday's incident, when a truck collided with a bus station north of Tel Aviv, as a "terrorist attack".
According to the police, the incident happened near the headquarters of the Israeli spy agency Mossad, the BBC reports.
Israel's rescue service said 35 people were injured as a result of the attack, with six of them in serious condition.
"The identity of the terrorist is still unknown, apparently he is an Israeli-Arab. At the moment we, together with the Shin Bet (domestic security agency), are trying to reveal the identity and provide absolute security," said Asi Aharoni, the Israeli police spokesman.
According to what has been announced, the truck was driven by a person who was armed.
It is not clear whether the suspect was detained or killed.
Tensions have risen since the outbreak of war in Gaza, as Israel has carried out regular military attacks in the occupied West Bank that have left hundreds dead.
