The Kremlin has dismissed Turkish media reports that Bashar al-Assad's wife wanted a divorce and left Russia.
Earlier this month, Bashar al-Assad, his wife Asma and family members fled Syria and settled in the Russian capital.
Assad's location was confirmed after Russian news agencies said Moscow had reached an agreement with Syrian opposition leaders.
A source said the rebels had secured the security of Russian military bases and diplomatic institutions in Syria.
But yesterday, Turkish and Arab media reported that Asma al-Assad had filed for divorce from her husband in Russia.
Asked in a phone call whether the reports about Asma al-Assad correspond to reality, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: "No, they do not correspond to reality."
He also dismissed Turkish media reports suggesting Assad was holed up in Moscow and Russia had frozen his property assets.
We recall that Assad escaped from Syria, after an offensive by opposition rebels, who within a week took power in the Middle Eastern country.
