The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, has stated that Russian forces are conducting widespread offensives across almost the entire line of contact in the east and south of the country.
Concluding an analysis of last month's military operations, Syrsky stressed that "the operational situation remains difficult," adding that up to 300 armed clashes occur in some days.
However, he assured that the Ukrainian military is keeping up Russian pressure and implementing a strategy of "active defense" to curb the advance of Moscow's troops.
According to data from the Ukrainian General Staff, there are about 710,000 Russian soldiers on the active front, a figure that Russia has not been able to increase, despite an extensive recruitment campaign, due to significant losses estimated at about 1,000 soldiers per day, killed or wounded.
Kiev warns that pressure will continue to be high, while international support remains crucial to maintaining defense lines.
