Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reportedly begun negotiations with Hamas for the release of Israeli hostages kidnapped by the Palestinian Islamic group. The information was reported on Wednesday by the French News Agency (AFP), citing sources familiar with the case.
" They are negotiating for the release of the hostages ," an official told AFP on condition of anonymity, confirming information previously reported by Habertürk media.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Turkey's president held talks with Arab world leaders, such as Algeria's president and Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, on the issue of hostages and humanitarian aid for the Palestinians.
Since the beginning of the conflict, Turkey has expressed its willingness to enter as a negotiating party between Hams and Israel to restore peace and stability in the region.
